Cerveza Cito is craft Brewery and was started by the founders of Suavecito Pomade in their home town, Santa Ana. They brew beers inspired by the flavors of their culture and childhood.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Certified Beer Server at Cerveza Cito Brewery located in Santa Ana, CA. The Certified Beer Server will be responsible for greeting customers, providing beer recommendations, serving beers, and maintaining a clean and organized taproom. Additional responsibilities include educating customers about various beer styles, keeping accurate records of inventory, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

  • A passion for craft beer and the brewing industry
  • Certified Beer Server certification required
  • Cicerone Certified- LV.1 is a plus
  • Experience in brewing operations, packaging, and customer service
  • Knowledge of beer production processes and equipment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Interest in craft beer and a willingness to learn
  • Food safety certification is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Outgoing and engaging personality
  • Proactive at identifying and completing work needs
  • Ability to assess station needs and act accordingly

Responsibilities-

Most importantly; cleaning, again, cleaning, and then cleaning again 

Pouring, serving, and the customer service & cleaning that goes with maintaining a bar.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serving a section of the bar, including the service area, as determined by management

• Cleaning General Areas

• Working in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player

• Maintaining complete knowledge of tasting room offerings, beer production, tasting notes, and Steps-of-Service standards

• Selling beer and, at times, food truck items

• Entering and completing customers’ orders on point-of-sale computer system; accepting various types of payment and making change

• Interacting with guests in a friendly and fast manner; ensuring guests’ complete satisfaction and exceeding their expectations

• Serve alcoholic beverages and nonalcoholic beverages for patrons of the bar and tasting room following standard operating procedures

• Maintain organization, cleanliness, sanitation and attractiveness of display and back bar area

• Carrying and transporting trays with beverages and/or plates

• Cleans and prepares table for new guests in accordance to the Company’s standards

• Performs cleaning side work as assigned

• Washing and sterilizing glassware

• Move, transport, and stock supplies required for upcoming shift(s)

• Responsibly serves alcoholic beverages in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

• Checking identification of guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages; refusing to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age

• Observing guests’ behavior once they have consumed alcoholic beverages, counting number of drinks served, and offering a taxi/ride share if you feel they should not drive; asking a manager for help with disorderly customers as needed

• Take pride in personal appearance; reporting to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy

• Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment

• Performing other duties as directed

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to pass beer menu exams with an 80% or higher

• Basic mathematical skills; ability to make change; effective and precise cash handling ability

• Basic reading and writing skills

• Basic computer skills

• Excellent knowledge of beer, production, and tasting notes

• Excellent and effective communication skills

• Multi-task oriented

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RBS Card certification

• Certified Beer Server

• LEAD certification required

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.

• Minimum of one year of relevant full-service restaurant or tasting room experience

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required

• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to workplace safety procedures

• Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Two to five years of relevant full-service restaurant or tasting room bartending experience

• Level 1 Cicerone

The employee must occasionally lift, carry or transport beer kegs weighing up to 150 pounds. The employee must frequently communicate with the team and at times with cooks. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; occasional exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands.
