Key Responsibilities

• Lead municipal engineering projects, including design, planning, and construction of capital improvement projects and grant work.
• Prepare construction plans and specifications, public bid documents, cost estimates, and other essential project documents.
• Evaluate and resolve issues related to public works and municipal engineering.
• Manage construction projects to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Stay informed on state regulations and requirements impacting municipal engineering projects.
• Review land development ordinances and agency regulations to assess land development limitations.
• Perform site investigations and due diligence, including ordinance reviews and utility service research.
• Design stormwater management systems and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
• Oversee grading design, ensuring value engineering and site safety through proper design slopes.
• Design utility systems such as stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer, and recreational facilities.
• Resolve vertical and horizontal utility conflicts, ensuring system integrity.
• Design and implement soil erosion and sediment control strategies, including best management practices and construction sequencing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 5 years of experience in municipal engineering and capital project design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Proven experience in managing and supervising project teams, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget adherence.
• Strong project tracking and oversight skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English for effective communication and understanding of project documents.
