Job Description

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - 2nd shift (Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)

Maintenance - Shawnee, Kansas

Responsibilities

  1. Support manufacturing by troubleshooting industrial equipment and providing process resolution for malfunctions.
  2. Provide support for engineering projects.
  3. Test and calibrate instrumentation that includes pressure, temperature, weight, flow, rotational and analytical devices.
  4. Repair and return to operation manufacturing equipment and accurately document GMP activities.
  5. Take ownership of training and learning to develop high performance competencies such as technical skills, communication skills, and customer (production) support skills. Maintain good organization and housekeeping.
  6. Provide input and recommend spare part needs for equipment. Provide input and assistance with developing and revising maintenance SOPs and JHAs.
  7. Perform other duties as trained and assigned.
  8. Generate and document deviation identified as a result of the calibration process
  9. Continuously maintain production machinery with the objective of improving system performance and efficiency. Perform equipment repairs for production areas and assist with installation, verification and startup of new processes and systems.
  10. Meet the Production and Shutdown schedules outlined by Production Planning and CMMS respectively for manufacturing of quality products safely and efficiently.
  11. Comply with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including Lockout /Tagout, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (OSHA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Company Guidelines.

Requirements

  1. A minimum of (2) years industrial hands-on experience maintaining production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Maintenance experience specializing in industrial PLC electronics, electrical troubleshooting, SCaDA and metrology preferred
  3. Process control experience supporting industrial PLC-controlled manufacturing machinery and other equipment such as pumps, tanks, and piping systems.
  4. Strong control system aptitude and troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose and repair multiple types of manufacturing equipment.
  5. Basic mechanical skills and experience to assist with diagnostic troubleshooting of equipment.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills in English required
  7. Good personal computer skills, including the use of CMMS software, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  8. Calculate math problems, technical reading and writing at a high school level.
  9. Read, interpret, and follow instructions regarding workplace documentation such as SOPs, operator manuals and work instructions.
  10. Understand and interpret both U.S. and E.U. formats of machine specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  11. Use analytical skills for troubleshooting various types of industrial machines and their controls
